Description

Integrated Livestock Farming is a training program that provides participants with a hands-on foundation in livestock farm setup and infrastructure development. Designed for new and aspiring farmers, it blends classroom learning, farm visits, and practical fieldwork to ensure a complete learning experience.

This training is hosted by Rid Agri Limited (Rid Labs), a social enterprise at the forefront of advancing animal health, combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and promoting sustainable farming. They conduct research on AMR & AMU stewardship, support smallholder farmers with sustainable solutions, and drive education and advocacy to improve food security and public health.

Participants will gain the technical know-how to design, construct, and manage farm facilities suitable for poultry, fish, pigs, and goats.

Modules Covered:

  • Farm Site Selection & Planning – Choosing the right land, water availability, and drainage systems.

  • Housing Design & Construction – Poultry houses, fish ponds/tanks, pig pens, goat shelters.

  • Ventilation, Drainage & Water Systems – Ensuring healthy animal environments.

  • Low-cost vs Modern Systems – Adapting farm structures to available budgets.

  • Infrastructure Maintenance – Long-term durability and safety practices.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Design and set up sustainable animal farms from scratch.

  • Understand the critical infrastructure required for profitability.
